Belinda Campbell (QC)

Belinda Campbell is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Montreal. Her work oscillates primarily between performance, video, music, drawing and poetry. She has shown regularly in Québec, notably at Axe Néo 7, L’oeil de Poisson, Dare-Dare and Optica. Her videos have been screened in France and as part of Fifa (festival internationale des films sur l’art). In 2004, she developed an interest in performance as both a solo artist and in collaboration. Her work with artist Caroline Dubois began when they created Fesses et Crécelle (2006-2010). As a piano player and composer, she is interested in the manipulation of her instruments and, in 2010, Dubois invited her to compose the music for a choreographed piece that was shown at Tangente. More recently, she has collaborated with artist Pascal Dufaux to developped a project that combines kinetic video machines and musical performance. Excerpts from her collection of poems will be published in 2014.
