By interweaving multiple artistic visions into one collective program, VIVA! provides the public with a lively selection of contemporary action art practices, which includes performances, public interventions, participatory actions and durational works. In total, 19 artists from Montreal and abroad will present original artworks as part of the fifth edition of VIVA! Art Action. Performances will be presented each evening at the headquarters (Les Ateliers Jean-Brillant) and, in addition, a number works will be created in public or private space throughout – and at times beyond – the four-day duration of the festival.

As an extension of the artistic programming, a series of complimentary projects also peppers the schedule, including a number of discursive events that range from debates to discussions.  Lastly, VIVA!’s signature projects, such as the well-loved VIVA! kitchen, return to insert preformative practices in novel and unexpected spaces.
